We understand that weight loss treatment may not be affordable to some, so we've designed our Share to Save initiative to get users talking, documenting and sharing their weight loss journey on social media. The more you share, the more you save! Users earn points for every shared piece of content on their private social media accounts. Points are then converted to coupons which can be redeemed towards treatments.

That's why we reassess your progress every 3 weeks to see if you are experiencing any side effects.

Here are some common and notable side effects associated with weight loss medications: Common Side Effects Gastrointestinal Issues: Nausea Vomiting Diarrhoea Constipation Abdominal pain Headaches: Mild to moderate headaches can occur, particularly when starting the medication. Fatigue: Some patients may experience tiredness or fatigue. Dizziness: Feelings of lightheadedness or dizziness, especially upon standing up quickly. Serious Side Effects Pancreatitis: Inflammation of the pancreas, which can cause severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Gallbladder Issues: Increased risk of gallbladder disease, including gallstones and inflammation. Thyroid Tumors: In studies with rodents, medications like GLP-1 receptor agonists (e.g., Wegovy) have shown an increased risk of thyroid tumours. The relevance of this to humans is still being studied, and patients with a history of thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 should avoid these medications. Kidney Problems: Risk of acute kidney injury, particularly in those with pre-existing kidney conditions. Severe Allergic Reactions: Hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis, which require immediate medical attention. Psychological Effects Mood Changes: Some weight loss medications can cause mood changes, including depression or anxiety. Suicidal Thoughts: Rarely, patients may experience suicidal thoughts or behaviour. Specific to Wegovy and Mounjaro Wegovy (Semaglutide): Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and constipation. Serious but less common side effects include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, and potential thyroid tumours. Mounjaro (Tirzepatide): Similar side effects to Wegovy, with common gastrointestinal issues and rare, serious risks including pancreatitis and thyroid tumours.
